Siecor DSL/ADSL Pots Splitter Filter
Siecor central filter/splitter for DSL/ADSL

Sorry, sold out!

After selling these on ebay and on my dslsplitters.com website for about 8 1/2 years I am now sold out.

If I find more this site will be back up and this notice will be gone, but as of now there are none left.

Thanks to the thousands of people who have bought these Siecor splitters from me over the years, some that have bought more for friends more than a few times. I have heard from lots of people who have solved their DSL problems with these. I had a whole pallet of these! I'm a little sorry to see them go.

  • Used to be when you ordered DSL service from the phone company, they sent out an installer who split the phone line where it came into your premises, and ran a wire directly to your dsl modem. But that was too expensive for the cheapo phone company, so they came up with the "customer self install", and they shipped you your modem and a bunch of those "microfilters" to put on each phone. Cheaper for them. Not so good for you!

  • This mostly worked OK, but many people have problems. Vague problems, like slow connections, failure to connect. And they won't fix it, right? Nope, it "meets spec". Great, huh?

  • The thing is, your dsl data is going all over your house, through the attic, down the walls, through phone cords, etc. It can slow things down! Sometimes dramatically!

  • Other problems can crop up with microfilters. For example if you have an alarm system you cannot have dsl data on those lines in most cases. Alarms are wired so they have "line siezure" and with microfilters that can't work. You will have to have a real splitter for that. I have sold several of these to buyers who were trying to get their alarm system to work again. Some faxes go nuts as well when sharing a line with DSL.

  • This splitter is what the phone company used to put in, but it was too expensive for them

  • You will notice this is dramatically more elaborate than the "microfilters" they gave you with your "self install". So it's easy to see that corners were being cut, which is why some people have trouble! This real splitter has THREE near identical circuits in it. NOTE: I am not a DSL engineer, this may not be precisely technically correct but it is clear they have taken shortcuts.

The electronics package less the snap off faceplate measures 2"x2"x2.75", this is P/N SPS-IF1-SR1. This is a much smaller and cheaper solution than the electrically identical outdoor splitters you sometimes see. If you can use this you can save some money and get the same results. It has the same PC board in it according to Siecor. The manufacturers data sheet is HERE.

Here is a picture of the guts!

  • This is a Siecor flush mount dsl splitter. As you can see from the pictures there is a plug on the front (bottom left picture) for voice, and one for data. On the back (bottom right picture) are 3 pairs of screw terminals so it can also be hardwired (which I recommend). Instructions and screws included! If like me you have a little box on the side of your house where the phone connection is, and there's room, you can just wire this up in there and put the cover back on! I am including more than enough wire for your splitter installation, but you will need wire to run from the splitter to your DSL modem. That can be a phone wire with plugs from Radio Shack or Walmart. Simple!

I have gotten email back from buyers saying "That sure took care of my dsl problems!"

Maybe if you have these kind of problems, this will help you! And you can get rid of all the "microfilters"!
